When i joined this forum in 2017 i had £3997 debt... Ive just made the last payment and now owe £0!!! No credit card, catalogue or anything and I have £2400 cash available!
Now ill be able to add £200 a week to my balance and aiming to be applying for a mortgage around 16th Feb 2020 I'm absolutely buzzing.
The last Payment made right now was for lowell CCJ so just hoping that gets marked as settled in time.
I'm in the process of right to acquire so fingers crossed ill get the £9000 discount plus have £3000 ish saved so will be looking at 87% ltv mortgage or hopefully less if i proper go for it!
Its been a long process but feel a big step closer to being a property owner today

Congratulations!
If you go for 85% LTV that will make it easier to get a better deal, else you are looking at 80% as lenders only move up in 5% bands

That’s great news.

Thanks everyone... Im waiting for my valuation appointment see what price they want for the house. Last time they said £82k and I turned it down as its just not worth it in this street.
There hasn't been any property sold here for years until the last 3 months one sold for £45k and theres 3 for sale at 65, 65 and 69k so im hoping more in that region this time. So if it does go around £69k ill easily get below 80% ltv.
Otherwise ill pay the £82k this time as its been the kids home forever and they do t want to move.Mortgage started August 2020 £69,700

Well the surveyor came yesterday to value the house... said i'll hear from them in 2-3 weeks with a valuation. As im buying from the HA I want the valuation low as possible however he was really impressed with my quarry tiles and fireplace in the kitchen which are very beautiful features but they were mine and reflect nothing on the scabby council house we moved into. Just a bit gutted as weve spent about £10,000 on the house over the years and now thats probably going to increase the price i will have to pay.
Ive also emailed the matron in work and asked for a 23 hour contract... ive been working there anyway for 3 years and itll just make it easier to get a mortgage.
So far still on target for february mortgage app. I got my settled letter off the ccj too. Just debating whether to send off to Northampton for a certificate from them too or if itll be a waste of time and money.Mortgage started August 2020 £69,700
