I wish to buy the above laptop for my daughter, I have discovered Windows 10 S is very limited, only Microsoft store apps can be installed.
Is the anyway I could install Windows Home 32/64 bit, so I can have other apps. I would prefer chrome browser and other apps like PDF, etc. I would like this to be free of possible, otherwise I buy a copy from eBay or Amazon.
Is it easy to do?
Thanks

I'd never heard of S Mode ... but from your links it seems that it's been around for 2+ years.0

If your daughter is about 12, or not computer literate, the laptop my suite her needs. Dont buy the laptop.
A second hand laptop that has a i5-3210M that came out in 2012 is faster than the cpu in that lenovo, and that i5-3210M is old, but still works well, but most would prefer newer version 8. the screen resolution is too poor, you cant even watch a Full HD film on it without it having to scale the picture. 120GB is the smallest you can now get, for surfing it is fine, but throw on a few applications and updates, it may get full quickly. For face book and surfing it should be fine, but is described as "entry-level laptop"
The best deals are second hand deals. Nothing wrong with them most of the time. Nothing goes wrong with a new laptops, most of the time too. If she is inexperienced, purchase a used one with a year warranty
The good thing about this laptop is that it is light weight, under 2kg0 -

Daughter started her GCSEs this year and hopefully go to do A levels. I read the reviews on Argos website and they look positive. Some have bought it for university.
I need to pick it up today or tomorrow. Any suggestions?

Agree.
Get used business laptop if budget under £200
If you want laptop few years without upgrade, I recommend need spend spending 400 like this one

And if it meant to take to uni in future, 15.6 is too large to carry around0 -

Interesting you say that, my son said the same when I asked him about this https://www.argos.co.uk/product/1997648, said 14" was a better size.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards.
