Pity you have only just thought of this Rob, just as the Amex Costco card is closing down as it used to give 2%/3% on travel/hotels/restaurants and was perfect for work expenses.
Do you ever use Uber for work/expenses as Tesco CC points get 3 times the value in Uber credit (or at least did last time I transferred a load over which is admittedly some time back)

The info is a little old, but the point is the same. 1 point = £0.01.

Depending on what you redeem the rewards on, they can be worth up to £0.03/point (ie. 3% cash value) but only if you can spend them on things that are useful to you. Otherwise they can be considered a flat 1% cashback on Tesco spend if you use the vouchers on your shopping. At that rate you might as well go for the Amex since at least then the value of your cashback/points isn't restricted to a specific retailer.

i found this after a lot of hunting around:

    Using Clubcard Credit Card
Tesco Fuel 5 points per £4 spent
In Tesco spend 5 points per £4 spent
Out of Tesco spend 1 point per £8 spent

    1 point = £0.01 reward (approximately)

Slightly misleading info, ie Spend in Tesco of 5 points per £4 = 4 standard clubcard points + 1 point per £4 for using a Tesco credit card

The john lewis cc can be used with samsung pay and does pay "cashback' although it is in the form of john lewis/waitrose vouchers.
  • cheers - nearest Waitrose is >80 miles away...as said we shop in Tesco for all our big grocery shopping. Will apply for Amex
