Hope you don't mind a cross-post from the Gaming forum but not getting any advice over there.
Hi, my daughter is wanting a gaming laptop.

Is that any good?
She wants a large screen as she does Minecraft skins and is quite keen at drawing on the computer.
She doesn't play anything too modern so that is probably a bit of overkill but better get something future-proof. League of Legends is her main thing at the moment, which is pretty elderly I think. But would rather get something that lasts a few years.
Thanks for any suggestions.
Budget around £1,000 can go up a couple of hundred if worthwhile.

The think about massive gaming laptops like this is that they aren't exactly comfortable on the go or in bed etc. and are going to be stuck on a desk most of the time. At which point there is a better option IMHO.
What I prefer is small, light, non-gaming laptop for portability and Thunderbolt 3 eGPU enclosure with any desktop GPU in it on the desk for gaming.
You get the best of both worlds - portability and performance with future proofing. Since any decent laptop CPU/RAM are good for 5+ years, while the GPUs are usually obsolete in about 3. Wit hthe external GPU enclosure you can upgrade the GPU on the cheap independent from the laptop0 -
How about desktop?
You can have a really nice set up with £800 which including monitor.
If you want to keep it around £1000 for 17" laptop, have a look at this.

Or if you just want MSI GF 75, box.co.uk or Very sell it for £12000 -
It does need to be a laptop, she only needs occasional portability but there's nowhere to leave a desktop setup.
She prefers using it at the dining room table. We have two desktops already, one is more office spec and the other one is always being used by another sibling!Make £2018 in 2018 Challenge - Total to date £2,1080 -

Thanks, that looks the best I've seen so far for that price point.
Quite like this too - https://www.box.co.uk/MSI-GF75-Thin-9SD-023UK_2758000.htmlMake £2018 in 2018 Challenge - Total to date £2,1080 -
Hi,
Just come across this one. i7-9750H is faster than Ryzen 7 3750H.
You may need to add more RAM later.
