Valuation cancelled by Halifax

Hi,
I applied for a mortgage through Broker from Halifax. I received a call from Estate Agents saying the Valuation has been cancelled. He said they didn't tell him the reason but asking me whats going on.
I called my broker and he is not answering. I have to wait till tomorrow morning. I am just wondering what could be the reason. I don't think me and my wife has any bad credits or any ccj's, though i havent checked my credit report before applying. All credit cards are cleared etc.
Do you guys know is it a normal practise to sometimes cancel a booked valuation. As i just made application yesterday and they booked the valuation for tomorrow.
Any experience will be welcome.
Looks like a sleepless night because of this stress.
Thanks

The estate agent asked me why i cancelled and i said I didn’t. He said he asked the person reason and they simply said asked me. Cant get hold of broker and no email saying anything wrong. Just very confused that we submitted the application yesterday afternoon. Are they that quick of checking everything and arranging a valuation the next day ?0

To the best of my knowledge the bank will check a few details and than take £200 for their valuation. The underwriters/spotty kids will do the mortgage for you. So the valuation was probably cancelled because the surveyor wasn’t available, or I’ll.
I wouldn’t worry about it, yet. Let’s face it, the surveyor may have been booked in by Halifax but was never available, sounds like a quick valuation0 -
They may not like your applicationDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

It's likely to be Esurv, the Lloyds Banking Group's pet survey firm managing its pre-Christmas workload.
One day last week, we had a valuation date changed three times in about an hour and often have cancellations and re-books by Esurv or other firms it "panels" work to.I am a mortgage broker. I had it once - not quite cancelled, but I asked if it had been done and was told it was on hold as the vendors had lost the place they were hoping to buy.2024 wins: *must start comping again!*0

Hi,
just spoke to Broker. He confirmed the valuation is being cancelled as bank are doing some extra checks. He said as of now he dont know what checks. But he has told his contacts within Bank and he has said he is looking into that and will give an update.
Do you guys know what other checks it could be ? Money has been deducted from my bank account.
Thanks0 -
The valuation fee is paid as you submit the application. If the application goes on to be declined before the inspection is done the fee will be refunded.
You may have been randomly selected for a routine audit, as are around 1 in 12 Halifax cases.
Alternatively, some information may have arrived from an external database such as National Hunter. Thanks for your reply. Do they normally tell Broker what checks they are doing ? Is there anything we can provided related to certain checks that can make the process bit quicker.
I had a finance agreement with one company, but i paid that in full last week before applying for the mortgage and i did supply the letter to my broker stating that it has been settled in full.
this waiting game is a killer as now i know they are doing extra checks.0
