Hiya - I purchased last month a 12 plate Corsa SE, took out for a test drive, drove lovely, no issues, etc.
Last week I was driving my OH round and as we parked up he couldn't open the passenger door from the inside, this definitely worked on the test drive as the gentleman from the car dealership was on the test drive with me and he got out no issues.
I've since checked the rear doors and the same thing happens here (child lock is DEFINITELY not on), can't open them from the inside but all doors open using the handles on the outside. I'd assumed it might be an issue with the handle on the passenger door, but that no longer makes sense if the rear doors are doing it, too.
I do have a couple of central locking issues covered on the warranty that came with the car, but wanted to check if there were any things I could do myself to check what the issue might be?
The issue is there whether I have just started the car, or just parked it up, and I've never turned on the central locking from the dashboard, although I have flicked it on and off when parked to see if it made a difference to the door issue (no joy there)
Any tips or advice would be most welcome

Reads like the deadlocks are not releasing fully. (The internal handles disconnect when deadlocked, so you can't break a window lean in and open the door) This is a central locking issue.
It could be caused by a low battery I suppose (the car battery not the key) but you have no starting issues.
I'd take it back to the dealer and get them to fix it.I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....
(except air quality and Medical Science)

Yes no starting issues whatsoever - thanks for the insight, I'll get them to sort it out0 -
Have you checked if it's a "double-bleep" system? That is, if you press the remote once, it unlocks the driver's door, with a second press immediately after the first it unlocks all the doors?......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple0 -

OP says they all open from outside; it is opening from inside that is the problem; quite serious if you were in an accident and couldn't escape.0 -
OP, was then engine still running or fully switched off when you tried to exit from the passenger side? Might be worth reading through the user manual for your car.0

It does indeed work that way, and doesn't work after two presses, either.OP, was then engine still running or fully switched off when you tried to exit from the passenger side? Might be worth reading through the user manual for your car.
Tried both, engine running when parked up and when the engine is off, neither way allows the doors to open from the inside.0 -
Jesus, note to self when checking something, check thoroughly...
I only checked the door behind me to try and open it, and only checked the child lock on the rear passenger door for the child lock being on or off - the one behind me had the child lock on, rear passenger opens fine from the inside, so it IS just the passenger door. I'll be taking off the door card when I get home (weather permitting) and checking everything is hooked up as it should be.

On my [STRIKE]Renault[/STRIKE] Nissan, there is a common fault with the front doorlock dropping into child lock mode- even though the little lever for child lock is not actually fitted to the front, the lock is the same front & back.
The fix involves releasing the lock from the door and using a screwdriver to flick the mechanism over through the hole in the door.
I wonder if you have the same problem.

I'll take a look at that, I'm hoping it might just be that the hook on the inside of the door card for the handle has come off :rotfl:0 -
Just as an update, it's the cable that links the door handle to the door latch, so have ordered a new one and plan to try changing it at the weekend!0
