Hi everyone,
I’ve just applied for a classic capital one credit card and have been asked to provide identity documents. On the list it says a driving license is acceptable but I only have a provisional driving license, does anyone know if this would be accepted?
Thanks in advance

Welcome to the forum nashmc
I do not believe that a provisional license is acceptable. Do you have any of the alternative verification identity documents from the list? If not, you will need to phone them in the morning to confirm whether or not a provisional license can be accepted.I work within the voluntary sector, supporting vulnerable people to rebuild their lives.

I do have a bank statement that I can send, I just worry that they’ll look down on my current available amount haha!
Thank you for your reply0 -
We were just denied identity verification using a valid driver's license, and we have a Capital 1 credit card since 2015. Due to the data breach Capital 1 changed their verification process and since then we have not been able to sign on to our account, and eventually they turned the tables on us, requiring additional identification. It's a mess. I am looking for other people that they've done this to because we lost our card, I have no statements to balance my books, they refuse to tell me what charges have been made but are still requiring payment. It is so unfair and we feel like we have nowhere to turn.0

That's not what turning the tables means.
What additional ID are they asking for? If you are unable to supply it, have you asked for alternatives?0
