Bizarre, and all too convenient.

Buyer claimed INR. Tracking shows item still lingering in sorting office. I rearranged redelivery for customer and messaged them to tell them as much.

eBay tell me the case will be closed in my favour, but I chose to refund the buyer just because I wasn't entirely sure the customer would receive the item.

I spoke with eBay over the phone and they say buyer cannot leave feedback, but if this happens, to contact them and they will remove it.

Buyer leaves malicious negative full of lies and mentioing a refund which eBay also told me is against their policy. Their chat representative tells me that they are unable to listen to the transcripts of the calls (Convenient) and that in any case, they are unable to remove feedback. They tell me that the tracking shows the item was delivered to a different address but won't elaborate...the sorting office where the parcel is still have it there as I phoned to check.

What on earth do I do now? It's the principle more than anything.

Firstly CS lied to you when they said you would win an INR claim, you wouldn't have done so unless delivery was at the buyers address.

As you refunded it means buyer 'won' the case and can therefore leave you feedback, although if they specifically mention an ebay dispute I would try another CS rep to get it removed.

Just get the parcel back and move on - hopefully you have already blocked the buyer. I would certainly see about getting the parcel back ASAP before buyer can collect -otherwise you will lose it.

  • I'm getting absolutely nowhere. I tried to get through to someone in the UK by contacting them at 8am and no such luck. I have so far asked this person 11 times how to escalate this and get it sorted and I'm being ignored. I find that Christmas is silly season on eBay but it's a bit premature this year. I have had 2 nasties in one day!

I know the negative is horrible but at the moment your priority is to get that package back before buyer collects it and has a refund as well as the parcel.

As for ebay if the feedback specifically mention an ebay case- and it needs to be specific , give them one more go but based on the feedback left, not based on what they mistakenly promised you earlier. I will always try ebay 3 times before I give up - but get that parcel back first.
