Washer Dryer has stopped mid cycle

i have an Indesit IWDC6143 Washer Dryer. OH noticed it had stopped mid cycle - all lights at the front were flashing. Looked at manual which seemed to suggest filter/drain hose blocked. I have drained machine and checked filter - there is nothing that i can see blocked in there. I have ran the drain function with the filter out - the pump appears to be running round ok from what i could see. I have pulled the machine out to check for kinks in any hoses ie drain hose or cold water pipe. I have removed the drain hose from i have tried to reset the machine by unplugging and holding start button. Then tried to run a spin cycle - the door lock took effect so i thought i had cracked it.... however the machine made its usual noise for a second or two and then didn't stopped so there was no spinning. I was googling for further advice and after a minute it repeated that.... and so on. I have not checked the sink trap/u bend for blockages but i did try to run the spin and drain functions holding the drain pipe over a bucket so i suspect its not that. Phew....... any more ideas folks?! Thanks in advance
