Shower in rental

For Electric wall mounted shower , I need to replace a Triton . I think Mira is the name I've kept seeing over the years on here as being a good choice for user friendly, reliability and longevity . Is this still the case please, or is there a better make now? (Looking around the £200 mark. )

Comments

  • Had a Mira put in my old place. Ran for 5 years and counting, no problems. Can't comment on other brands, but I'd get one again.

It was 9.8kW - it's definitely worth getting one with a decent power rating, although I don't think they sell so many of the weak ones now.

Only if the cabling is adequate. 9.8kW requires 10mm2 cables, 50A isolator switch and breaker.

Thanks . Yes we are needing more powerful shower, the bathroom will likely be revamped at same time so different cabling may not be too disruptive but thanks for that warning .I know reliability is important to landlords and theres a lot on here, hence the choice of forum. The property may have to be rented out in a year or so ,so I wanted a decent make that will last.

The DIYNot plumbing forum is frequented by a lot of plumbers (and electricians in their electrical forum)and they ill have experience/knowledge of the relative reliability of different models.

Whether they agree, or start an argument with each other, is another matter...................

This really is better placed on the "In my home (incl DIY)" board of this forum.

Moving it over for better responses.
