Panasonic TZ3 Digital camera

I am looking to buy this camera as a present, I would like opinions on what extras I would need to buy, to make it more usable (spare batteries, memory card etc) Also I have the option of buying from USA this week, does anyone know if the US model has the same spec, and would the warranty be valid over here? Maybe I could just get the accessories from the US if they would be cheaper? Any advice please!

  • Lovely camera. Easy to use and big screen so lack of a viewfinder is no problem. I bought a spare battery with mine (from Jessops online) and a 2gb SD card.

Not sure about buying it in US but may be worth a look with dollar so weak atm!! Warranty might be a problem tho!

Try pricerunner or kelkoo to search for best prices - cheapest i've seen today is 169.99 + delivery. worth checking for Quidco etc!

    Good luck!

  • Good choice on the TZ3... I bought one for workshop + lab use and I'm very impressed with it. I suspect my dSLR will be spending a lot more time in its box. Focusing isn't the quickest, but the image stabilisation is excellent, as is the lens distortion.

Extras worth having are a decent case (mine didn't come with one, and it would be a shame to scratch that huge LCD) and (at least for me) a 12V charger.

The neoprene case from australia on ebay is good - well made and good protection, but maybe a little bit too snug - I keep changing the mode switch putting the camera in.

12V charger (cheapo from ebay) hasn't arrived yet - has a spare battery with it but battery life seems good so don't expect to use it much.
