in Credit cards
I'm the primary account holder & i also have an additional card in my wifes name.
I have my card connected to my iPhone for Apple Pay and whenever something is bought with my card i do not get a display on my phone.
My wife has her card connected to her Android phone for whateveritscalled Pay. Android Pay, Google Pay Huwei pay or whatever. Thing is, whenever something is bought using her card, she gets a notification on her phone, so for example the website name & amount paid will show up.
Neither of us have been in to any sort of account settings and meddled, so they'll be whatever they were by default.
This isn't the greatest thing leading up to Xmas. What time is it as i've left my phone upstairs, i'll just push a button on your phone to check the time - boom, could give an Xmas present away quite easily.
So she'd like to remove these notices. Just how? And why is her phone receiving them and not mine? Not that i'm wanting them, just wondering how hers is.

The Amex website states
https://www.americanexpress.com/au/customer-service/faq.manage-alerts.html
I'm confused though, if your wife is using her card to buy a Christmas gift for you then it doesn't matter that she gets a notification on her phone, just she needs to keep the phone with her at the moment she makes the purchase so you don't see it .Thrifty Till 50 Then Spend Till the End
You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time but you can never please all of the people all of the time0 -
Or set your notifications to be hidden until the phone is unlocked by way of a PIN/password/fingerprint etc.0
-
Just turn off notifications for whichever app it is she uses.0
-
Has your wife installed the Amex app on her phone? Transaction alerts (as push notifications IIRC) are a feature offered within it.0
-
Go into GPay and unpick the option to be notified of all transactions on the Amex card. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
