I have decided to change my bank from RBS to Santander. I am wanting to open a 123 Lite current account and an EISA. With the 123 Lite current account will I be able to do everything with my Visa debit card which I can do at Santander cash machines ie check balance and print mini statement, transfer between accounts and deposit cash and chequers at other Link cash machines which are not Santander? If not what will I be able to do at other Link cash machines with the Visa debit card?
Will I receive a Passbook with the EISA? I am interested in requesting the cash card you can request with the EISA? Will I be able to use the cash card at other link machines as well as Santander cash machines? What will I be able to do with the cash card at Santander cash machines and other Link cash machines?

Yes to your questions about the 123 account. Remember you can manage your account online too.
As to the EISA - if it doesn't say so on the website then you probably won't get a passbook. The cash card should in theory work the same way as the main account card for withdrawing but probably not for paying in - the Key Facts document says "Deposits can be made at any time via standing order, one-off payments or online transfers."0 -

Cheques you can post but obviously any cash to the post office. Our local Santander branch closed last year so we pay in to our local post office.0 -

I always use my debit card at bank or supermarket ATM's and don't have a problem0

This isn't a debit card though, it's a cash card.
You may or may not be able to use it at other machines - it depends if the card has the LINK logo on it. If it does, you should be able to make withdrawals, check your balance, change your PIN etc. If it doesn't, you may or may not be able to do some or all of the above. (The worst the machine will do is tell you 'I can't work with this card' and give it back to you though, so don't feel like you can't try.)0 -
It has the Cirrus logo on it if that helps?0

Cirrus is Mastercard's ATM network.
The equivalent from RBS is Plus which is Visa's ATM network. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
