Credit history when moving abroad

Options
I've read online that your credit history doesn't follow you when you move abroad but can your credit history be used to give you a boost kinda thing? Or is it completely worthless? Whether my credit history is amazing or completely wrecked makes no difference if I moved from the UK to another country, like America?

What about companies like Amex or Capital one, won't they still have my UK records on their system and they can use that to prove that although I'm in a new country, I've previously been a great customer etc?

In general terms, your original credit history will mean nothing.
Amex may be able to transfer your charge card account to a different country. You will need to discuss it with them.

Your UK credit history means zero in another country and vice versa.

Some card lenders like Amex and HSBC will let you transfer your cards to your new country of residence.
