Dealing with shares

Hello All.
I am executing my Mum's will, and have dealt with nearly everything apart from her shares.
She has several, most of which are not worth too much on their own, but all together add up to a reasonable amount of money that I need to acquire and distribute.
My problem is that I am finding instructions from equinity etc impossible to understand.
Is there anyone who is able to give me step by step advice in plain English how to sell the shares?
Sorry to ask, but am sick of it all having jumped through an inordinate amount of hoops for some banks, who seem to just be trying to make life difficult, (where as others simply transferred cash with just the writ and will) and I can't face another year of trying to get something done when I don't understand the rules and every institution makes up their own. :wall:
Thanks
Rose

OK, some more details needed before anyone can give meaningful suggestions.
In what form are the shares held? Paper certificates, Nominee account with a broker, other ?
How many different shareholdings, Average value of holding, total value of all holdings ?
Once this is known someone can point you towards an appropriate broker through which to sale them.

Have a look at this and see if it helps: https://www.shareview.co.uk/4/Info/Portfolio/default/en/home/products/Pages/Buyandsellshares.aspx
If you get confused, come back here and say which bit is confusing you and perhaps then someone can help while you've still got some hair left to pull out!0
