PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING: Hello Forumites! In order to help keep the Forum a useful, safe and friendly place for our users, discussions around non-MoneySaving matters are not permitted per the Forum rules. While we understand that mentioning house prices may sometimes be relevant to a user's specific MoneySaving situation, we ask that you please avoid veering into broad, general debates about the market, the economy and politics, as these can unfortunately lead to abusive or hateful behaviour. Threads that are found to have derailed into wider discussions may be removed. Users who repeatedly disregard this may have their Forum account banned. Do people looking for somewhere to live look on both sites?
I have used Spareroom and my yearly subscription runs out soon.
I have had people make equiries that were currently using Airbnb.
Do people still get enquiries with just the free add?

I believe when I renewed it was ok with lodgers. I dont live in a city, 5 miles away from Leeds.0 -
Never paid to post an ad on spareroom. Had quite a few inquiries from a number of prospective lodgers. Eventually ended up with a pair of very nice young ladies who are here for the long term.Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –

Always used the paid subscription to Spareroom.
For occasional short lets in the summer ie less that a month, initially attempted to use Airbnb but gave up and used Spareroom. Have always managed to fill those the short lets, could be because I don't provide any meals so I am cheap(er) than Airbnb around me."... during that time you must never succumb to buying an extra piece of bread for the table or a toy for a child, no." the Pawnbroker 1964
