With VPN's you expect a choosable endpoint and you will look as if you are browsing from whereever that endpoint is.
However streaming services will block know endpoint. M<any VPN providers for faqs/forums where they keep people aprasied of current endpoints that work (will require more effort in choosing a certain point rather than just a country).
Other not exactly VPN soultions existed buty I have no idea if they work anymore.
If you are based in the UK (EU is another matter at times), and do not mind leaving a compueter on at your home it is a better option to set up you own VPN back to your base machine as it will not be liable to the cat a mouse of commercial options.0 -

They work by making the website you are visiting think you are in the UK (or whatever country you choose).
The cheaper ones are consistently blocked so you might have to subscribe to a decent service, some offer money back guarantees if you can't get it to do what you want it to do.0 -

VPNs and TV phone apps play a cat and mouse game. Sometimes you are lucky and it works, then it stops. Stick with listening to a radio app and forget trying to watch TV.
I use CyberGhost and that is hit and miss. Currently there is a dedicated BBC iPlayer streaming setting that works, and a UK Netflix one too. I can’t get the ITV Hub to work on either setting (there currently isn’t a setting for UK and ITV Hub, there might be one next week, equally there might not).0 -
you could run your own vpn which costs you nothing, and remote to your home internet to get bbc. Not sure if a raspberry pi will suffice here as the end off the home vpn? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=15VjDVCISj0
You are also assuming the wifi that you will be using has sufficient bandwidth and does not filter ports.
Admittedly PIA, Nord etc. are the easiest solutions0 -
Thanks folks ...maybe just stick to reading.0
