Tandem cash back credit card - no longer recommended by MSE?

As an avid follower of Martin Lewis and the great work carried out by the MSE teams. I switch credit cards, savings etc in pursuit of the best deals. After smashing the Amex everyday platinum reward card at 5% in the first 3 months for some big household purchases I had to make. I then switched to the 2nd best recommended being the Tandem credit card which I still use for everyday spends. Yes paid off “IN FULL” every month! Paying 0.5% cash-back credited to your account each month. The same rate that the Amex card reverts to after the introductory rate, but not capped like the Aqua reward card.

I notice that the Tandem card has disappeared from the MSE top cash back credit cards.

Does anyone know why?

It does (did) seem like a good card, accepted in more places than Amex with it being MasterCard. Also having fee free spending when travelling and no annual fee. The Aqua card seemed easier to get if your credit score was an issue. Just puzzled as to why MSE don’t recommend it anymore? I’m still a content user of it, would probably only switch to the Apple credit card whenever it is released in the UK.

It’s likely because they are no longer accepting applicants as a few people have pointed out elsewhere.

Regarding the Apple Card - don’t hold out on it having anywhere near the same cashback incentives or rates as the USA card and it will also likely come with a hefty annual fee as well.

Thanks Gary, might explain it if they’re no longer taking new or limiting applications. Yes I’m still perfectly happy with the Tandem card, only snag is it does not link with Apple wallet for ease of payments whilst out and about. I was thinking that maybe some of the benefits had changed that I hadn’t picked up on, hence maybe the reason MSE had dropped their recommendation as it had been up there in 2nd place for a while. Often check back on what the best cash back cards are and having had the Amex one, the Tandem card was always up there and I still have no reason to switch just yet till something better comes along. Yes will be interesting to see if the Apple cash back rates will be the same over here.
