Can I extend the front of a mid terrace?

Hi,
I live in a small 2 bed mid terrace house. The kitchen is at the front along side the hall way.
I’d love a bigger kitchen and wondered is it ever possible to extend the front? Or is it a definite no when you’re a terrace?
Either making the whole width of my house a little bigger so moving front door out too, or just a small extra bit of kitchen? Single story only.
My front lawn is very small too and then beyond that is parking/the road so maybe I’d be too close to the road although its a Cul de sac if that makes any difference, no passing traffic at all, just the residents!
It’s a very modern estate, house is 10 years old.
I’m talking about moving the front of the house out by say 2m....and losing most of the front lawn.
Maybe I’m crazy but the need for a dining table is huge!!

Only your local planning authority can tell you.0

Front of house facing main road, I would be very very surprised if you could. Planning would say building line blah blah etc.0

It's unlikely. As well as the planners you may well have estate covenants in force.
You might be able to get a porch on the front door. If that porch is wide enough it'll take a washing machine and dryer stacked, or a second freezer, etc, so freeing up some space in the kitchen.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0 -
Can you extend to the rear and rejig the rooms inside?A man walked into a car showroom.
He said to the salesman, “My wife would like to talk to you about the Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
Salesman said, “We haven't got a Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
The man replied, “You have now mate".0 -
I guess anything’s possible but it seems quite drastic and I should maybe move instead!0

Highly unlikely to be allowed to extend forward. As has been said, building line etc. You also need to consider that the extension floor space would be narrower than the existing house. You still need cavity walls but can't encroach on the adjoining properties. That effectively make the room about 12 to 15 inches narrower (30 to 37.5 cm).0
