Advice needed for FTB with Dodgy Credit History!!

Options
Hello,
Thank you for looking first of all.
My partner and I have applied for a mortgage with Halifax. We are first time buyers. We got a dip from Halifax via our broker and we then submitted the full.app on wed. The valuation is now booked for Tuesday. However I am extremely worried that they wont offer us a mortgage due to my past credit.
Here's the run down:

2015 to 2017 9 pay day loans all settled.
2015 to 2017 5 late payments because I didn't have a direct debit set up and was stupid and careless.

Salaries : Joint 44,000
House price: £160k
Deposit:50k
We have savings and are being gifted money aswell

I have 3 credit cards with £6250 available credit but only use 1 with a £250 balance. I didn't want to close the 2 I dont use as they are my longest accounts and didn't want my score.to.drop before we applied.

We dont have any loans, car payments, any other debt.

Partner is an extremely good saver, around £800 a month.

I am.so worried that halifax will look.into my file and see my past and decline us. Are there any brokers or underwriters on here to advise me their opinion?
Basically have Halifax already done their credit checks or will they do a hard search after valuation?

Thanks in advance!!!

I think you should be able to get a mortgage with those numbers and history. A broker will be able to place you to the right lender

  • We went with halifax. Just wondering if they have done all the credit checks as I have nothing showing up on Experian!
