Golf 1.6 TDI 2014 Glow plugs
Started engine to come home from work, yellow engine light came on dash, handbook suggests catalytic converter fault. Car appeared to run fine.
Got home, plugged in OBD ll reader which gives P0672 which internet search suggests Glow plug 2 fault. Can someone with more knowledge advise is car safe to drive ? Rough cost of replacing Glow plug, should all 4 be done at the same time? Car done 78,000 miles
Thanks

I had the glow plugs replaced on my Hyundai i30 recently for £160. It's also a 1.6 with 78,000 miles on the clock0

If its a glow plug fault, yes its safe to drive.
Get all four done while they're in there doing it. They're not expensive0 -
Safe? Yes.
Harder to start in cold weather? Probably - the main job of the glows is to provide sufficient initial warmth to start from cold, but that's less important than it used to be.
Dirtier emissions? Probably - many modern diesels use the glows in normal driving to ensure full combustion.
MOT fail? Yes. Engine management light on is a fail.0 -

Pedant alert
Only for diesel cars registered after 01/07/2008 (i think)
and petrol cars registered after 01/07/2003, (know for definite as my 03 CRV passed yesterday with light on), will be an advisory on MOT obviously.
ps Appreciate above may not be relevant to OP depending on age of their vehicle
EDIT.....Must go to specsavers ASAP....re-read OP, vehicle is a 2014!
Apologies.0
