Carflow in Chalfont St Peter PCN

I was advised to start a new thread. We were issued a PCN for spending 88 minutes in a 60 minute car park run by Carflow in Chalfont St Peter. Other members have been successful in dealing with this company but I am not sure if we have grounds. We overstayed by 28 minutes
It was late (18.47 to 20.15) and the car park was dark and mostly empty. The notices were therefore not easy to read. We assumed there were no restrictions after 6 pm.
As my son is autistic, he attends the Youth club for autistic people on Tuesday evening in the local Youth Centre. The car was recorded by Carflow when we visited the M&S shop in the precinct while waiting to take him back home. We overstayed because our son was late leaving the club as he was helping put the chairs away.
Is it worth appealing as it was our fault for not reading the notices?
thank you for any advice.

Just to add, I have read the newbies sticky and other threads, so am aware of the need to appeal( but on what grounds?) and not to identify the driver. thanks0

The story has no legs , it's nothing to do with them why it happened
To win you would have to win on a technicality , so no landowner authority , poor signage , POFA etc
The choice is yours0 -
The normal route is, send the initial appeal, then appeal to PoPLA using all the template points available from post 3 of the NEWBIES.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister. All my screwdrivers are cordless."You're Safety Is My Primary Concern Dear" - Laks0

Thanks for this advice. There are technicalities we will refer to, eg. that the photographs of the car does not actually show the number plate legibly (they have provided separate closeups of the number plate but how do I know these are contemporaneous?), and also the fact that payment is demanded on the front of the letter in 28 days and in the POFA section on the back the correct 29 days is mentioned (so which is right?) I am inclined to also mention that having a one-hour limit all night for a car park in a shopping precinct whose shops are all closed by 8pm seems arbitary in the extreme.0

I would suggest you send the blue text template appeal as it is - no additions or alterations needed.
You seem to be thinking that they might accept an appeal with lots of detail. There is no money in that and it is often thought that they don't bother to read appeals.
There is also a chance that they recognise the template as coming from MSE forums and put it in the 'too difficult' pile.
Send it as the keeper.0
