I need insurance for a bike that the police took they are refusing to give it back without insurance. It's a brand new bike I bought online and it came without a registration number I've applied for it to be registered but that could take between 2 & 6 weeks but the police took the bike last night and i can't get insurance without a registration number nobody is willing to insure it since it's in a impound and not registered. It's a directs bike. Is there any way I can get it back.

You will not get insurance for motorcycle with no registration at DVLA.
Nor will it be easy to get insurance from normal insurers for impounds.
You can speak to some specialised insurers as per example here: https://www.bikesure.co.uk/impounded-bike-insurance/
Why did the police take the bike? The world is not ruined by the wickedness of the wicked, but by the weakness of the good. Napoleon0 -
I already called bikesure .co.uk they said they can't help. I guess I will just have to wait untill I get v5c document from DVLA I applied a week ago maybe it will take them another week to respond.0

So you are unable to answer the only question that was put to you.

Obviously the bike was being used on the public highway with no registration plate, no tax and no insurance.
Obtain the required documents. Wait until you have the v5c document. Obtain the insurance. No need to mention that the bike is currently impounded when getting the insurance. Tax the bike. Then go back to the police and ask nicely if they will give the bike back.
Were you given a fixed penalty notice at the time of the offence? You may well need to deal with that as well before the police will return the bike.0 -
You can insure it on the chassis or engine number
Not many companies will offer this as it involves extra work for them
Try companies that specialise in imported bikes/cars as they are insured on chassis number while being registered with DVLA or try brokers near military bases as they deal with imported vehicles frequently0 -
