+1 if you're using Windows 10. (Which you almost certainly are). No need for a 3rd party AV product. You could install the (free) MalwareBytes AntiMalware (MBAM) for occasional malware scanning ... the paid-for version enables a realtime scanner which can prevent nasties even reaching your computer.

If you are running Windows 10 then the built in Defender will do the job.

Alternatively, you can try Bitdefender which works effectively on all versions.
  • If you don't want to use windows built in one then Panda is one I'd suggest. I use it on all my pc's.
  • As Neil49 suggested Bitdeffender I find it is very good indeed but it's not free, but how much do you value your security? free stuff always has its draw backs.

    The free version is...free.

I recommend you use the Built-in anti-virus if you are currently using windows 10, but if not you can use Bitdefender. I am also using Windows Defender or the built in anti virus on windows 10.

or maybe you should see some guides on that, I'm sure you can find them online like I did when I went to find some guides on tactical flashlights.
