    Thank you :j
  • Hi,
I would argue that the shape of a new moon would best be described as a circle since it is the opposite of a full moon. A new moon occurs when the moon lies between the the Sun and Earth so the side lit up by the Sun is facing away from Earth. The trouble with this is it means that we can't see it. Not a particularly fair question - asking the shape of something we can't see, but perhaps they mean the crescent that is the first glimpse we get of the moon in its new lunar cycle, but then this is a crescent moon and not a new moon. I really am not sure what to put

I'll probably put circle as I'm picky that way. It would be interesting to know the answer they have. I suspect it may be crescent!

This probably didn't help anyone did it?
