UKPC Cheeky Letter

Options
They sent a very late NTK for an APNR issued notice, easy appeal. They are now fishing.

:rotfl:

Is this breaking BPA guidelines?

No , they are asking for Driver details , a phishing trip but quite normal for them

Ignore it and await the popla code they state will be sent if no Driver details are provided

Then it's a golden ticket popla appeal to get popla to cancel it

Sit on your hands and wait

About time they upgraded their copy and paste letter

"We take people to court" ????

Any old fool and his dog can take people to court, what the judge will say and do is a different matter.

That should read ... "We take people to court but we don't know if we will win, especially if our dodgy legal adds on a fake £60"

OH YES, that propaganda website, they are not being honest, they forget all about the time the DVLA banned them for fraudulent activities, they faked time stamps on photos.
The DVLA/BPA were stupid to allow them another chance to scam more people ???
  • They haven't followed this up yet. Should I just let them continue to dig themselves a hole?

If they pass this on to someone else without providing a POPLA code, I fully intend to take them to court for everything I can.

    Have you read this?

    https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/crime/11858473/Parking-firm-UKPC-admits-faking-tickets-to-fine-drivers.html

Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams, so consider complaining to your MP after the election, as it can cause the scammer extra costs and work, and has been known to get the charge cancelled.

Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, many of whom are former clampers, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.

Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies.

Look forward to learning the outcome. Keep us posted.

They are within their rights to issue scamvoices, just as you are within your rights to fight the scam.

Well done on getting it cancelled. Was this as a result of a landowner complaint?

Don't forget to complain to your MP as well about this unregulated scam.

Unless your NTK arrived too late for keeper liability, under the law, and your case is still at early appeal stage (which it can't be, if the false £60 has been added) then your case is NOTHING like this one, Tottenhamboy.

You will be sued, so if you want to know how to win, read the thread my signature (below - NOT visible on a phone, so get off the phone) tells everyone to read and how to get to it.
