eon smart meter interrupting the gas supply

I bought a new house 4.5 years ago which came with a Eon smart meter, i have had significant problems with the meter causing an error on my boiler error 133, which means no heating or hot water.
The error is listed as the gas supply has been interrupted, ignition has failed or the flame has not been detected. one of the engineers kindly showed me how to reset the meter which opens and closes the valve and gas supply returns to the boiler. He did say in his professional opinion this is no good for the boiler having to be isolated regularly.
I have had several engineers look at the problem Baxi claiming the meter, Eon saying theres nothing wrong with the meter (not supplied by Eon anymore but its their meter) im out of warranty now on the boiler, last night the boiler packed in and its costed me £345 to rectify.
Has anyone else experienced similar problems and how did you resolve?

Smart or not these days the only meter that will cut you of is prepayment. And that is in your hands either way.
Maybe the run to the boiler used 15mm pipe and requires 22mm? THat would be my first guess rather than randomly blaming meters. (do you use gas for anything else that randomly stops working?).0 -
If only you'd kept your friendly dumb meter that couldn't cut you off...
Just wait until Time of Use tariffs kick in for your electricity supply, enforced by load limiting. You WILL obey !Smart or not these days the only meter that will cut you off is prepayment.
ALL smart meters have built in Remote Disconnection and Load Limiting capability. It's in the specification. They just didn't get round to telling you.0
