    You would be amazed at the draught that can come in through a letter box. Cheap fix, a door curtain hung on a shower rail. Some of my neighbours never even draw their curtains at all throughout winter.


    I agree with checking what temp the boiler heats the water to. When I got my new boilerman about 6 years ago he suggested turning mine up from E to the one above & it did make a significant difference. It isn't just your walls that retain heat, it is your furniture. Sitting on a cold settee just drains the heat out of you rather than feeling relaxed & cosy.

    I was going to start a thread on advice on how hot should the boiler water temp be, i am always unsure of this, the max is 80 and i have set it to 60,but sometimes the heating goes off after 45mins and does not start up again even when room temps drop and rads go almost cold, i have to switch off and on again for the heat to build up again.
