First Direct Scam

I cannot believe that First Direct, who I have always had great admiration for, have not warned their customers that scammers are phoning their customers, "ghosting" the FD telephone number. They have all your details, ask exactly the same security questions and then proceed to tell you that there has been suspicious activity on the account. They list your transactions, so must have hacked the mainframe. They then take take you through a procedure to "reclaim" the money, but instead they are taking money out. When it is discovered, it will take you over 50 minutes to be put through to the fraud team (which never happened) - time that is lost when it would have been possible to recover the money. If a car manufacturer kept quiet about a fault on their car, the lawyers would have a field day. Come on FD, live up to your promises and come clean. I will not be answering any calls from the bank as it cannot be trusted.

Being scammed appears to be a hobby.

Do they have your details though? Or do they say "what is your user name, what is the 2nd, 3rd digit of your password" and then just confirm the information you have offered them is correct?
And by "hacked the mainframe", do you mean they go onto the online banking portal and fill in the details you have given them followed by "we have just sent and authentication code to your email/mobile, can you confirm what it is?"2 -
Unfortunately I have ‘fallen for this scam’ yesterday and I’m still waiting for a call back from FD. Does anyone know how likely it is to get your money back?-1

How can you fall for it ?
Any email from FD (well any bank in fact) tells you not to divulge any information.1
