Claim sales bonus not PPI

This might be quite confusing, but please bear with me! My mum says she remembers hearing something on Martin Lewis' roadshow about being able to claim back the some of the bonus paid to the person selling you the loan in the case that you did not sign up for PPI. I did a lot of searching online before posting here, but I've been unable to find anything about this; all I have found is information on claiming back the tax on a PPI payout. Could it be possible that she has got it confused with this? Or is it possible to claim back money in this way for purchases made on credit? Thank you!

She's confused. You can't take the salesperson's commission.
She is thinking of Plevin.and undisclosed POI commission.0
