prepaid Mastercard gifts

Hi,
New here, hope this is in the right place.

I work at a youth activity centre. I want to be able to give away a prepaid card that can be used anywhere Mastercard or Visa is accepted. I dont want to sign up to the card, I just want to pre load it with a bit of cash and give it away. Some of these young folk will be spending it on trips abroad, where others will be spending here in England, so they have to be flexible.

I see the prepaid cards for under 18s, but these require registering before loading, or take a huge hit when spending.

I see companies offering prepaid Mastercard as an incentive to join up with them, how can I get something similar?

Any ideas?

Places like Wilko offer prepaid Mastercards in fixed value offerings in their gift card section. There is usually a fee of £3-5 for the card though, and beware of any limitations or fees (particularly forex!).

Just seen that you're in London so might not know what a Wilko even is... I think WHSmith might do something similar? Not sure I've seen it in supermarkets but you could look there too.

I can't help thinking that this appears to be a rather strange thing to want to do.

There are quite a few Wilkos in London, thankfully.

You'll be better off getting them to sign up for prepaid accounts then bank transferring them the funds to them. The prepaid gift cards are a hassle to use, being swipe only and fees are charged for activating them and doing transactions in non-GBP currencies.
