I Want To Browse Anonymously

Anybody know of any good browser that can be used for browsing anonymously.
I have heard of Steganos and one user says it is rubbish cos it kills your pc's speed completely.

I am after a freebie here not shareware or trial ware wherever possible.
I do control cookies on my pc and from time to time to wipe my history traces and cookies away as well as using anti spyware programs.

All ideas welcomed.

I will give this a try.
Thankfully the new version contains tabbed browsing something which the browser I currently use contains with the option of cleaning history, caches and cookies which I never use.

    Cheers.
    :-)

Other browsers will be checked out if other people have them to offer.

I can't see a different browser doing the job for you. The info you request will still come from your computer and will be tracable back to your IP address.

What you need is a proxy. When you make a request for a web page, the request will come from the proxy address, then will be sent to your computer. This way your IP address will be hidden from the pages that you want to view.

There are many proxies out there (including free ones). Try Googling for free proxy. You will find loads like THIS one. This is how you can stay anonymous while you are surfing the web.

I don't use proxies myself and can't vouch for the one I've pointed out. I can only point out that this is the type of thing you need to stay anonymous.

You could try https://www.anonymizer.com or software from https://www.primedius.com.

    In addition to the above,
some forums and other sites completely refuse to operate unless you allow cookies to be stored on your pc.
I know cookies are not spyware but my anti-spyware programs have picked up tracking cookies in the past.

How to I fake cookie storage?
That is make cookies appear to be stored elsewhere other than on my actual pc?
Using somebody else's pc or going to an internet cafe spring to my mind, hehehe :-).

What do you mean by anonymous surfing? What are you trying to protect?

I agree with Rex. The best way for anonymous browsing is via a proxy. There's probably not really much need for it, although it is nice to know you can browse the web without people, or companies looking at where you go. The only downfall with a proxy, especially the free ones, is that they slow down browsing. It adds extra hops required for the request and response, and you're relying on the proxy server. Also, make sure it's a trusted proxy server.
