Hello all
Just like to say a great big thank you to everyone in the benefits forums for help over the past 7 months.
My mother-in-law who has been struggling in the last few years finally after a hospital appointment in April took the decision to stop working until her state pension in 2021.
It's been an eye opener for me and I have learnt lots about the benefits system but it's good to see it works when it is needed.
The claimant got a letter today saying she is entitled to the LCWRA element of UC after a recent assessment. She only started on UC in August so I am delighted to say these extra monies are going to be so helpful until she reaches state pension age.
Next, is just the PIP tribunal........
Thanks again.

Your MIL may want to see if her local advice agency / Citizens Advice have a caseworker who could help with her appeal.
If not then the Benefits & Work guide could be valuable (but a c.£20 membership to access the full version).
Good luck with it. Currently a c.74% PIP success rate at appeal.
