Renewal fee for rolling contract

Hello! My fixed term letting contract is over and I'm going to a rolling contract with my landlord (i'll just pay every month). In the contract that i've signed 2 yers ago (before june 2019) i have this clause:
"Upon signing the Tenant Offer Form, a Tenancy
Agreement Fee of £320 + VAT (£384 inc VAT) is payable
by you to us to cover the cost of preliminary paperwork,
administration in respect of references checks and
deposit protection and the tenancy agreement. An
additional £150 + VAT (£180 inc VAT) will be payable for
any renewal for both short lets and long lets."

So even if the laws changed i have a specific clause for this, but is passing to a rolling contract a short let? Does this apply for the rolling contract?

Thank you for the help!

You say your fixed term contract is now over...what date did that end.

Your fixed term contract will automatically become periodic rolling so it is likely that it has already happened.

I would not be paying for a service where something automatically transfers and from what you say has already transferred.

Technically you can be charged up until the end of May 2020 if the charges were within your written agreement...you appear to have a clause that suggests a charge but by the sheer virtue that the wording is not specific then personally I would challenge it...you have nothing to lose

    Nothing is getting renewed.
The existing contract remains in place.

There is no renewal unless you agree/sign a new fixed term contract.

A periodic (rolling) tenancy arises automatically. No fee is payable.
