Who can view your credit file

I just wanted to get a better understanding of how credit files work. I know banks/ creditors update your credit file monthly, but can they view it when they do this? For example, if you have a bank account without credit, they update your credit file each month, but can they also continue to see what's on there? Or only banks/ creditors where you've got credit from?
Thanks a lot

It was just to understand if creditors etc can view your file whenever they want. Or they just update it.0

In essence that's what you wrote in your original post (i.e. do they just update it or can they also view it).
My question is why do you need to know??I have a tendency to mute most posts so if your expecting me to respond you might be waiting along time!0 -

Banks will receive monthly feeds that are similar to, but not the same as, credit checks.0 -

Correct.
BUT - Creditors can get access to your credit file (in real time if they need to) if they have your permission (that's why its important to read the T&C's of any contract you agree to, You need to make sure you know what your allowing companies to access).I have a tendency to mute most posts so if your expecting me to respond you might be waiting along time!0 -

As for requiring permission - that’s a sticky subject and not entirely accurate0 -
Ah ok. Thanks a lot0

I personally asked for advice on something when I was new, and got blunt replies asking me why I needed to know and why I had done the things I had done - suggesting I was doing something fraudulent - and I'd done nothing wrong. I decided I would NEVER ask for help again because people were so nasty. Is that how we want new members to feel?
Kindness costs nothing and kudos to those who actually tried to help. Ignoring a thread costs nothing, if we really don't like the person. But if we are not here to help, why are we here? To judge?
I cant find any posts were you asked for help (perhaps you had a different account), can only find a few posts were you’ve been corrected slightly (exactly what post #9 from Gary has done with me on here and there’s nothing wrong with being corrected (perhaps if I had more detailed information I could have been more helpful).
Furthermore you mention people being nasty and judgemental, which is exactly what you’ve done on this thread. You have come here and not tried to help the OP at all with their question but instead been judgemental of others!
Perhaps you should take heed of your own advice and have ignored the tread if you weren't going to help the OP!
But don't worry, you've won, you have made me feel bad about myself which im sure was your intention. Have a good day (I on the other hand am off to have a cry!).I have a tendency to mute most posts so if your expecting me to respond you might be waiting along time!0
