Regardless of whether 3 hours is enough or not, the very presence of a PPC is increasingly becoming a risk to motorists and to businesses, as this cafe has found to its cost.

Given the location I rather expect it was used by day trippers etc so the 3 hours wouldn't be enough for these folks and what they intended doing

Certainly, looking at the reports, it would seem that the cafe did a lot of business from the non marina folk. Sad. I hate seeing places like this closing - for whatever the reason

Three hours should be more than ample for some other reasons. Supermarket shopping for example. Our local ones are 90-120 minutes and, it would appear, from the local press anyway, there are very few issues about parking or parking control. I suspect the vast amount of shoppers at supermarkets are more interested in getting a parking space than what is going on parking control wise*

*. Yes I do know about the bad practices etc etc from the PPCs. I am talking, in general, about how the public see it. My guess would be that supermarkets would lose more customers if they couldn't get a parking space because of the selfish and inconsiderate parkers than because of parking control

But - none of us really know. You get local reports of PPCs getting kicked out so clearly there are issues out there. Whether or not it impacts overall on the supermarkets is another question. I am still inclined to think if there was a business loss that they could narrow down to PPCs there would be more publicity and they would act...

Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
