    Yes that's what a VPN is for . Virtual Private Network.
    It lets you connect to your own network (or work) as if you were physically plugged in there.


    The other uses, like location spoofing, whilst useful, are just a side affect.

    As mentioned in one of the earlier posts, yes, your computer is more likely to contain malware and the like than your phone. That makes the latter more secure. However, make sure you're connected to a network you trust (not public WiFi) when making bank transactions over your phone.
