here we go again

received Parking Charge Notice for £70 (£35 if paid early blah blah)

for alledgedly being in breach of car park Ts&Cs (free 2 hrs no return within 1 hour)

I shopped twice on day of question each time for approx 20 minutes and approx 4 hours in between the 2 visits

according to Horizons photos, car was in said car park for over 4 hours, I wonder where the other 2 photos have gone? that show car in question, leaving and returning after approx 4 hours?

isn't technology wonderful?

I shall of course be contesting this (currently going through the newbie section for further help and info)

management at the store weren't interested in my complaint yesterday evening, have sent off an official complaint to Sainsburys customer services via email this morning, lets see what their excuse will be in denying any liability to their partner using dirty business practices? I shall of course be shopping elsewhere, shame on you Sainsburys

"edit" just got a reply from Sainsburys

known on here as a double dip, go back to the store add start a complaint about a GDPR breach. their systems are faulty with inadequate checks in place and as such your data should not have been accessed/processed. demand they remove the offending equipment with immediate effect

You might be better with a complaint to Mike Coupe. mike.coupe@sainsburys.co.uk
You are the victim of the infamous Double Dip. Whilst you wait for your PCN to be cancelled by Sainsbugs, submit a SAR to the DPO at the PPC (acronyms in the NEWBIE sticky, DPO address on privacy page of PPC) asking for ALL and any photos of your car VRM AB12CDE and attaching copy of V5C

You do not have to put up with rubbish from the customer service

    Write to the CEO

1: How disgusted you are with the reply from his customer service
who appear not to be interested in good customer service
2: That yes, I overstayed the limit imposed by your parking company which tells me that you would prefer me to limit my spending with Sainsbury's and carry on spending at one of your competitors ?
You of course realise that you have many competitors and you also realise that my money is my money and it is up to me where I or my family and friends spend our money.
3: You are probably losing a lot of money due to employing parking predators whose sole interest is farming a car park like yours for pure greed.
4: Therefore, I ask you to arrange cancellation of this ticket and if not, explain to me and your customers why you think we should spend are hard earned money with Sainsbury's.

Personally, I would hold of on the CEO complaints for now, and go for the GDPR / inacurate anpr systems.

    To the parking company....
    re pcn number#####
you have accessed my data without just cause, relying on flawed automated systems, if you had checked the accuracy of the data a parTying charge would not have been issued.
You must now cancel this parking charge notice and cease processing my data in regards to pursuing such a charge with immediate effect

Right the double dip, even more info for the CEO who needs your business, not the other way around

It's the fastest way to get this cancelled

Double dip claims are very common, especially with the low grade "made in China" ANPR systems favoured by scammers, read some of these,

Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams, so consider complaining to your MP after the election, it can cause the scammer extra costs and work.

Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, many of whom are former clampers, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.

Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies.

No, you are not entitled to see them for this purpose.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
