Just a 'fun' piece, but whilst commenting on an article about police BEV's, and a side benefit of not setting fire to the brush/long grass on the side of roads in the US, I was given a link to an article in Australia.

It might not occur to us in the wet and wild UK, but parking police cars on dry grass can cause fires from the hot exhaust, catalytic converter, DPF (depending on vehicle), especially with hot engines running the air con for the occupants. These fires can even take out the police cars, on occasions.

Police chase ends in flames with $200k BMW highway patrol car igniting in long grass

A police car, worth around A$200,000, catches fire after parking in long grass at the side of the road following a pursuit

Mart. Cardiff. 8.72 kWp PV systems (2.12 SSW 4.6 ESE & 2.0 WNW). 20kWh battery storage. Two A2A units for cleaner heating. Two BEV's for cleaner driving.

For general PV advice please see the PV FAQ thread on the Green & Ethical Board.

I don't believe this. I'm sure, based on media reports, that it is only electric cars that catch fire?!

    This is great.
What particularly impressed me is that his Zoe has done 40,000 miles and the battery still has 99% SOH !  :o

Wait until they insure all the vehicles they produce and take a cut of the robotaxi business, not to mention sending out their own robotaxis.

Why did it take nine hours to go 130 miles in our new electric Porsche?

Even the Guardian have jumped on the EV charging nightmare bandwagon. It must be true.

Yeah, it has all the hallmarks of a telegraph/daily main/daily express article.
Well except for no added peril, id expect the right wing media to throw in some "dimly lit, shady area" or the "thought they may never get home" etc etc.

So what if it was a host of petrol stations that were closed?

Seems if they stopped at the 7kw slow charger for an hour, they would have had enough to get home... meh.

    P!ss poor planning leads to....
