    Very cynical indeed! :rotfl:

If I'd wanted to do that I would just have told them it was faulty or that I hadn't used it. But as stated above that wouldn't be right. :A

Glad you took no offence as none was meant. :T

  • Just a quick update on this.

As I really was unhappy with the light bleed on this set AO.com advised me to send pictures to Philips so they could advise if the bleed was within tolerance.

As I was taking the pictures I noticed that the screen in the bottom left hand corner actually had a gap between it and the frame of about 3mm (this was flush on all other sides) where you could see the backlight coming through.

Philips confirmed this was a manufacturing fault and I returned the set for a full refund.

    Happy days!

    Merry Christmas all

So you never noticed the 3mm gap before ?

Good to see you got the payout and i hope you enjoy the Xmas hamper you will be getting from Philips or AO.com as compo.
  • I actually didn't. Not until I got close enough to try to take a picture. I was more focused on how it looked from my seating position

And no compo. Manufacturing faults happen. Just happy to have it resolved and have my refund. AO.com were excellent overall. I will definitely buy from them again.
