Portsmouth- Free Parking and bus to Dockyard

Does anyone know where in the Portsmouth/Southsea area you can off street park or a free car car park for the day and then catch the bus near to the Historic dockyard. We are pensioners and could use our bus pass. Local parking we understand is expensive for a full day. Thank you.

Have you looked into the park and rides? Would your bus pass cover those? As the price seems to be per car it's cheaper than a car park either way.
