CSA Complaints

Maybe I've just dreamed this at some stage -LOL, but I'm sure I've read on here that there is a department within the CSA that deal with complaints about how cases have been handled -losing details, ignoring information etc etc.
Can anyone help - It's for a friend of mine who's been given the run around for 7 years!!!

There is, but I've shredded all my CSA stuff now maintenance has stopped due to DS2's age.

Has your friend got their MP to write? I found that was very helpful in gettting a response, also I managed to get the name & phone number of a member of staff who got their teeth into my ex-husband (so to speak!) & got wonderful results because of her persistence.

I guess you know they can trace an absent parent through NI / Tax records....but they need to be at a certain point of no response (i.e. after the doorstep visit didn't work). Must be embarassing for an HR department to give a senior manager a letter from the CSA & ask him to sign the receipt for it!

Also any info you can give re their personal cirumstances, living arrangements etc can also help - my ex husband got stung for 4 years of back-maintenance because he had said he was living alone, but letters between solicitors stated that he had a joint mortgage..... so his allowances were all wrong. They also "found out" that he had started work after redundancy, and that he changed jobs after 2months....and he wasn't even answering their letters...
  • Thing is she's so frustrated as she's found out all these details - NI number, where he lives and works etc and they keep 'losing' the details!!:mad:

Must say when I went through them I had major aggro as well and in the end I had to almost spy on my ex to find out where he worked and sent them photographic evidence etc. Luckily he's grown upa bit now and pays up fine - not via CSA tho!!!!

I'd definately go to her MP - my husband was wrongly accused of fathering a child by someone we'd never heard of at the opposite end of the country to us. Fortunately I trusted him completely so it didn't cause any problems between us but even though he sent back the paperwork saying it wasn't him they wrote to his employer and got all his salary details and were about to take money off him. It only got sorted out when he contacted our MP and the MP wrote to them. Turns out it was someone with the same name as him, that's all - no other similarities. We ended up getting £100 compensation for their continuous errors. It went on for months though until our MP got involved. Good luck to her - they are not very easy to deal with!
  • hi the team you want is the csa,s resolution team you have to write or email the normal department with your complaint and it will get passed on to this team they are really good orwas with my case anyway

Sorry to be negative but I went down the MP route and all I have ever received back is a letter to confirm that I had written to my MP (NO!!!) and that I had made a complaint. Complete waste of time. I also gave details of where he worked etc and have heard nothing in over two years.

I was becoming so frustrated and upset over it all I have decided to no longer pursue this for my own sanity.

    Sorry for the rant!
