How many days late can you be paying your credit card bill before it affects your credit rating?
I've missed paying my credit card bill on time several times and wanted to know if this is likely to affect my credit rating.

Yeah that is what i will do.
Was hoping it'd be more like 30 days.
The reason I'm asking is because I recently applied for a job and they need to do a background check which includes a credit check. Is the fact I have paid several of my bills late likely to affect whether or not I get the job?0 -
You will have a few 1's if your unlucky......... You might get away with nothing though.....0

I guess '1s' aren't too bad?
Are they likely to effect whether I get a job or not?0 -
I'm assuming this is a job with a financial services company? They're looking out for serious stuff like disqualification, the odd missed payment shouldn't bother them. Might be worth asking them what they're looking out for though, so you know what to say if they come up with awkward questions.0

If 2 late payments appear on your credit file then it will effect your credit rating. Whether or not that will worry your potential employer is another matter. I suspect that they are more interested in using a credit check to confirm your identity and to check that you have not been done for any fraudulent activity. Although I guess it depends who the employer is and what business they are in.

If I may be permitted the observation, a Direct Debit for at least the minimum payment might be a better solution. The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0
