MOT fail - repair cost?
Hi. My car recently failed its MOT on following items. Is anyone aware what could be the expected cost for these repairs? It's a Peugeot 206 (08 plate). Kent area.
- Nearside Front Drive shaft joint constant velocity boot split or insecure, no longer prevents the ingress of dirt (6.1.7 (g) (ii))
- Offside Front Drive shaft joint constant velocity boot split or insecure, no longer prevents the ingress of dirt (6.1.7 (g) (ii))
- Nearside Front Upper Anti-roll bar linkage ball joint dust cover no longer prevents the ingress of dirt (5.3.4 (b) (ii))

Parts i'd expect well under £50, and probably 2 hours labour.
Did the MOT garage not quote for the repair?0 -
Might make as much sense to swap the cv joints or even the driveshafts whole if the gaiters are actually split - if grot's got in there, the joints will wear quickly.
And one droplink - don't buy a cheapie, they don't last two minutes. A few quid more on a decent part is well spent.0 -

That's what I normally do. Once the boots have split the damage is done.0
