    Afternoon all.

I have been up for ages, it's just that everything takes so long to do now. I'm working out how to carry things when I have two crutches - seems it's a carrier bag slung over the hand rail.

DM is certainly trying to do a lot more for herself, she even made me egg on toast this morning which I thoroughly enjoyed. My exercises are rather taxing, one especially gives me some discomfort though I suppose it's meant to! It's the muscles which need mending and strenghtening now, the hip and wound are totally pain free. Think I need to take some paracetamol, wait half an hour and then do the exercises.

It's so lovely to read such positiivity here! I think that the dark nights and dark mornings encourage gloomy moods. The weather is certainly very bright and cold, I can see icy breath from the people outside.

Now I think it's time for a wee nap! Happy rest of Monday to all.

    Afternoon all.
So ok, who passed on the lurgy to me ? I'm coughing, have a sore throat and a runny nose :(. Oh well I've ducked a cold so far this year, so I suppose it's only fair for me to take my turn.
We went to town this morning to the big As*a and the car park was very busy, but we were lucky to find a largish space. We cannot get our car in a small space as it's too wide, Mr Fix It did try one, but neither of us could get out of the car and we're not nimble enough to climb out of the sun roof :rotfl: . I only wanted to get my xmas turkey crowns and pork which are now cwtched in the bottom of the freezer.
This afternoon we are collecting the DGC from school and taking them to their house so we can let Jasper out. ( DD has a staff meeting every Monday and SiL has gone to London for a work meeting ).Then Mr Fix It will take DGS to his swimming club and I shall stay and feed DGD. DD should be home about 5.30 - 6pm.
Dumpling please don't worry too much about putting on the odd pound, you need to build up your strength first. We need you fit and well.
Gers keep your chin as up things will get better, you have to let your body have time to heal. Hugs.
Speky a salted caramel log sounds delicious. Please keep me a piece.
RedRuby I hope your foot stood the test of work today. to the dog owner, pup must have been terrified.
Hugs to all the poorly ones or those struggling with daily life.
    Take care all

  • Afternoon all. Sunny and chilly here. I do feel better when it's sunny. We went to the 'spoons in Nailsea for breakfast which was lovely. Then we went to Wait Rose because I had £4 off a £20 shop. I wanted Clipper Organic Earl Gtey tea bags and W is the only place I can get them. They were out of stock. An assistant asked if I wanted any help so I explained and she gave me a box of T*ingings free. Bargarn! So all in all a good shop.

Gers I an pleased to hear that you are making progress. Glad DM is trying to look after you. So sweet. RR hope foot is pain free at work. Dumpling home alone. Well done you. Hi JackieO. Sending healing vibes. Hi LWW

My cough has nearly gone and I feel livelier so I am going to wash the kitchen and bathroom floors. DH has been doing my share of the chores recently.
    Have a good afternoon folks.
