Management Pack for flat

Hi all,

We had previously sold our flat in March but it fell through. We took it off the market and resold two weeks ago. In March we paid £618 for management pack and deed of covenant. Now we are told we have to pay again as it was more than six weeks ago.

Two questons:
-Does this sound legal and normal?
-The flat next door is also in the process of selling, could we use the same management pack and ask for it from them and pay half?

Thanks

  • Yes - and yes (if you are in the same financial year as you were in March then perhaps its only the specific queries raised that need refreshing but that depends on when you pay rent and service charge)
    No -

But really you ought to ask the agent for some sort of discount and any agent with a shred of decency would consider giving you one.

Yes - you can ask. Whether the neighbour will agree, and whether your buyer will be satisfied are both uncertain.
  • One of the issues with using the pack from March is the information it should contain about any planned major works, something could easily have changed in the intervening months.
