I really hope so,, when he was here I showed him all my paperwork, a hell of a lot of it going back to 2015 to my complaint to the ombudsman man, he said you've done your homework, very impressive,,,so he must of knew soon as he left I wasn't going sit back & ignore this, infact whilst he thought I was on my pc trying to get a payday loan I was starting a chat with the citizens advice to see where I stood, they've been great in advising me & I have done everything they told me to & they put me at a bit of ease, it was only the text message threat last night that has got me all worked up again. I'm so angry I hope he doesn't show up today, I have had to cancel my grand children's visit because of this so I'm beyond livid. I've cancelled work for a couple of days so I can get back onto this first thing in the morning, my husband as copd & can't really help much at the minute but my son lives her to support me. Thank you for your replys

Why is it you believe you dont owe the debt or what is it that is debatable regarding it. It's strange as you seem to be putting up a big fight regarding the money however you handed 5k over at his first attempt more or less.

    Doesnt really make sense.

I wish you could see all the paperwork & emails I have here in regards to all this that started with an old car I used to own, it's so long winded & actually none of it does make sense & that's the reason I'm fighting it so hard, I can't afford solicitors so I am doing the best I can on my own (granted, not going very well!). When the bailiff was here I emptied my purse & told him that's all I had (which he took), they are not the friendliest people to negociate with & I said I'd try to get a quick loan & went upstairs on my pc to contact the citizens advice, I had no intention of getting a loan,, it was my husband that rang his mum to get the money together as the bailiff said he would have to take it back to court to go for repossession, he panicked & when his mum said she had some money there the bailiff offered to follow him down to get the money, which he did.

Paperwork isn't needed. Either you owe the money or you dont. Only you will truly know that.

If you owe it and you haven't been preparing for this day over the last 4 years then you only have yourself to blame.

If you know 100% you dont owe the debt then you shouldn't have paid the 5k.

Anything in between is irrelevant. We here are hearing half a story trying to advise like many threads on this website.

Sorry if it seems rude but you either owe the money dont. It may be complicated but you will know.

Read a couple of posts and the original post doesnt even make sense. Hit and run. Where was the car being driven? Same area? No cameras? How was the car sold? Bank transfer would have shown who it was sold to and if the police came knocking i would have had the bank transfer. If paid cash I would have made sure I seen I'd and had details of buyer. Smells funny and doesnt make sense.

Feeling 'deflated' is a whole lot better than it could have been. Maybe they just don't have the correct paperwork, and were just trying to intimidate you, hoping that you had the funds squirreled away somewhere...

According to the National Standards for Enforcement Agents, enforcement should not be undertaken on Sundays, on Good Friday or on Christmas Day unless the court specifically orders otherwise or in situations where legislation permits it.
