Expectations after paying off mortgage

You don't remove the charge - the lender do. The charge is simply a note on the LR record that says "Without this person's agreement, the property can't change hands".I never removed the Charge when I paid my mortgage off. In fact I think it's still the name of my original first lender.
Does it matter for anything?
The lender should remove it when they no longer have an interest in the property, when it's no longer security for their loan.0 -
You do however get a WHOOP WHOOP and a :bdaycake: from me on behalf of the forum0

https://propertyalert.landregistry.gov.uk/Can you do this even with a mortgage?
It doesn't even need to be your own property that you're monitoring.POPPYOSCAR wrote: »Yes you can0 -

I have been mortgage free now for over 5 years, its the best feeling in the world.
I do not have to think twice about buying that I really want.
I travel a lot more now, save some of that mortgage money, give to one charity monthly and live a stress free life
Month end I don't even think about mortgage payment.0 -
