Help dealing with Paypal

Now we're aware of the full situation I agree with the advice given in post #9 and get whatever refund you can for it.
Next time, buy from a U.K. retailer. You'll have some consumer rights that way. "Bargains" from overseas can turn out not to be great value, particularly when things go wrong, as you have discovered.0 -

Also, depending on the type of item, they can also turn out to be potentially lethal if not built to a good standard.0 -
PayPal are scammers, they are bank rolling their own portfolios.
They don’t care about customer service & will freely restrict any large amount or money on the pretext of a security issue.
They are not a bank & so owe no duty of care to its users, they are a money service that be shut down for the safety of its users.0 -
^ a laughable reply, they’re fine if people use common sense and check who they’re buying from0

They are not a bank
They are not a bank but they are a financial institution and as such, they have to abide by anti money laundering legislation and yes, this may well mean that they have to hold, restrict or refuse some large transactions.
It's certainly not all large transactions as I've made and received quite a few Paypal payments for largish amounts and never had a payment held or refused.
I've also been making and receiving Paypal payments for a very long time and the few times I've had a problem, it was down to dodgy ebay purchases where the seller wouldn't help so I needed to rely on Paypal and they always refunded me in full.0 -

So true. It's funny how many people call them scammers because the person didn't follow any kind of due diligence.
If they have a UK warehouse, as you mention, surely just post it back 2nd class signed for. Their website looks reasonably legit, so perhaps we aren't getting the full story here.0
