Visa Card with Text Alerts

Hi,
Our current Visa card provider does not offer any form of text alert service for weekly balances or sudden excessive spending etc, so are trying to find one who does, but without having to use a smart phone App.
Seems Barclaycard do use Visa and such texts but no idea how good their service really is ?
Also welcome any other Visa card providers with such Alerts ?
thanks

BarclayCard.
As you’ve already stated.0 -
First Direct will provide you a mini-statement by text. I believe upto 5 times a week.
I last used the facility for my credit card a few years ago. However I still use it on my current account.0 -
Who exactly is your 'current visa card provider'?
Are we talking credit cards or visa debit cards here?0 -
Hi,
Its a Visa Credit card and we want to stay with a Visa Card
NW is our provider, but as we do not have a current account with them we cannot get Alerts , and then not sure if the Alerts only refer to the current account rather than the Visa account.
Have spoken to them but no sign of them offering such a service.
Feel with all the fraud about its worth finding a provider that will send out regular Alert - why not, others do, - though only able so far to find BarclayCard offering Visa, hence the post in case we missed some other good providers.0 -
Why exactly are you so keen to have a Visa credit card rather than a mastercard credit card?
Have you actually ever been the victim of fraud? Can't you just log on to your online banking from time to time to check things if you are so worried?0 -
Only Visa?
What happens when their payment platform has an outage?
You should always have one card from each of the platforms (Visa and MC) and maybe an Amex for good measure0 -
Hi,
We already have Mastercard and do not want to put all the eggs in one basket.
Could log on all the time, but text alerts are so much quicker and safer.
Think its off the BarclayCard.....0 -
John Lewis credit card sends you a text every time you spend something but unfortunately i is a mastercard0
